Art
Curriculum Intent
The distinct practice of Art & Design offers a unique way of understanding, responding and contributing to our world. We believe it is essential for Art & Design candidates to engage in a wide range of tactile and sensory experiences, which stimulate and encourage creative and imaginative responses. We provide opportunities to explore colour theory, line, tone, pattern, texture, mark-making and compositional design and combine these with a diverse range of techniques and materials. Our students are empowered to carry out independent enquiries and to reflect not only on their work but also the work of others.
How is Art delivered at Warden Park?
Throughout Key Stage 3 students receive two lessons per fortnight. If students choose to continue their studies in Art & Design at GCSE they will have 5 lessons per fortnight.
