FIXED TERM CATERING ASSISTANT

September 2018 to July 2019 INITIALLY

We are looking to appoint a general Catering Assistant with effect from September 2018 to join “Parkes” our in-house Catering department.  Our catering team prepares food for both the Secondary School and our Primary School.  

Duties involved with this vacancy may include: 

  • Handling/preparing food;
  • Assisting in setting up the service counters for lunch;
  • Serving meals to students and or using the tills;
  • Cleaning duties in the servery, dining halls and kitchen areas. 

The role is based in our Secondary School in Broad Street, Cuckfield where the successful candidate will report for work daily. 

This is a part time, term time only fixed term contract for 17½ hours per week Monday to Friday 10.45pm–2.15pm daily (3½ hours per day).  The salary scale for this post is WPAT Grade 1/2 Point 10 and the hourly rate is currently £8.07 per hour (pay award pending).

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES 

Warden Park Secondary Academy has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to work with a range of learners who have a learning/additional support need and require a reader/scribe during examinations and to support assessment work.Full training to provide this support to their learners will be provided.  

Volunteers should have a good academic ability, preferably with previous experience working with young people or within education, and appreciate the importance of confidentiality. 

Volunteers will be asked to complete and return a Warden Park Support Staff application form (see below) and also provide the names and full contact details (including email addresses) of two professional referees.  All successful volunteers will also be subject to a Health Assessment.
